Did I mention that I was itching for things to speed up? *checks* Oh. Yes. I did. Well, things ARE speeding up. At a frightening rate!!! Under my assigned responsibilities: Getting materials for programs I'm in charge of (Wordless book, English lessons - thankfully at a very basic level), planning how those programs ought to run, making of beaded safety pin bracelets (very chic/bohemian!) to rasie funds... And above all of that (and more), still making sure I know just who I'm relying on in the midst of the frenzy of preparation. Sometimes I do feel nervous. Even question if it was wise of the team to take on the trip given the 2 weeks (now down to 5 days) we had to prepare things from scratch. And even for the duration of the trip itself... I'm scared that there'll be so many things to take care of during our available free time - last minute rehearsals of mimes and thai songs, preparations for telematches and games... that I'll burn out or crack or something... God, give me time for rest and refreshment in You, both here and when I'm there... And watch over the team members...
Yesterday, I made my first ever batch of cookie dough. Well... I helped. *grin* Sifted the flour and folded it into the butter and sugar. I tell you, mums who bake often must have beautifully toned arms. The amount of strength needed to mix the dough... Haha, but I did it in the end, every bit of flour properly mixed in. Refused to let Zhi Yun take over. She did 2 batches on her own earlier that day anyway! =P Then we mixed in the chocolate chips and arranged the dough into small pats on the baking trays. Afterwhich... *groans* we started preparing the cellophane wrappers for the cookies. And wrapped each cookie in cling wrap before furthur packaging them in packs of 3. It was like some production line. Frantic cutting, wrapping, scotch-taping, packing... Even Zhi Yun's mum helped when she returned home from work. We left for the team meeting, with me feeling a little pukey - I blame it on the sight, smell, and touch of SO MANY COOKIES... To think I was happily singing 'C is for cookie' at the very beginning of the cookie making session... *barfs* Got home around 11pm, tired and frazzled after having been out since 12 noon, shopping for BEADS with Polar Bear & Sheep at Chinatown before going to Zhi Yun's and team meeting. You won't believe just how much money was spent on beads... I WAS tired, but also extremely excited over the funky safety pin bracelets to be made for sale. So excited in fact, that I plonked myself down on my bed and finished 2 of them in one sitting. Ended up sleeping at 2 AM. And waking up at 7 AM. With slightly puffy eyes because of the lack of precious sleep. But it's a brand new day and things HAVE to be done. 7 - 8 more bracelets to be made (3 done so far), SAR-ry admin stuff to settle in NUS, and another team meeting this evening. *pokes self* I'm awake, I'm awake... Well, actually I do feel awake. Just wonder when I'll start slipping into auto-pilot... =p
