There've been a few notable "firsts" achieved in the year 2003 thus far:

1. Made my debut as a suspended cymblist at the nation's much-hyped about performing arts centre, the durian of the nation's eye - the Esplanade

2. Knocked out and stabbed hapless beetles through their abdomen so as to pin them to styrofoam blocks. Their noble deaths contributed toward my project grade for Biodiversity

3. Picked up, cared for, and raised a month old kitten who is now an "independent" being that bears an un-unconditionable reflex of swatting at anything within reach of his wicked paws

4. Camped out at an elevated shelter at "the southern most point of Southeast Asia" overnight with friends to gaze at stars

5. Learning to speak, read, and write a new language with more diligence and perseverance then I'd ever showed for my mother tongue

6. Watched at least one movie every week of this semester. Whee!

7. Wrote a 2000 word mega-big essay

8. Survived on 4 hours of sleep, TWICE. Eek. Am I becoming a typical NUS student who stays up till the wee hours of the morning just because of school work???
