Strangely, I feel pretty chipper right now. Must be the coffee taking effect. Or maybe studying about cell death is actually quite interesting.

Phosphotidyl-serine move from the inner to the outer leaflets of the lipid bilayer in apoptosis. In other words, cells release "eat me" signals when it's time for them to go.

Just try to imagine a single cell (out of gazillions in your physical body) running wildly around in your system screaming "EAT ME! EAT ME! EAT ME!".

Must be the coffee.

Gargh. Wish I could better appreciate all the stuff I'm learning. Hrm. I'll make that an aim for next sem. Cell bio isn't all that bad, just the many many protein names (like Cdc 14, Cdc 27, G-proteins, Caspase-Activated-DNAase, and the list goes on...) make it a pain to study...
