Met up and celebrated 2 birthdays with my secondary school gal pals today (oh ok. Yesterday. Or last night, rather.) BBQ steamboat buffet at Marina Bay, Fiona's treat! It's the big TWO-ONE for us all this year, and I'm so glad I'm a December baby. *Bounces up and down with glee* It's nice to know that I'm
almost a year younger than some of my *ahem* ageing peers. =p
That aside, had a good time of eating and socialising with all of them - considering XM's been back for 2 plus mths and this is the 2nd time I've seen her before she flies back for a new academic year Down Under! But having butter sizzle and spit on you while you're trying to cook the meat on the hot plate without it turning to charcoal is no fun. And the food smell has stubbornly refused to leave me despite 2 lathers of shampoo and rigorous scrubbing. Bah. But anyway, photos will be up later. =)
Heh, sms-ed my dad in the afternoon to inform him that I'll be eating dinner out and so he needn't buy back my share. His reply:
ok. Take good care and anjoy your self.
If my mum's the disciplinary authority in the household, my dad's the one who would be inclined to indulge, sometimes even to the point where I'd be spoilt by him if not for the balance of powers. Not that I'm implying that he's a pushover in any sense, but seldom do I get a 'no' from him for my requests, and often times he'll go out of his way to run an errand or provide aid. Like how he constantly opposed my taking in of Squee, yet he was the one that attached chicken wire to the grills at the balcony in an effort to prevent the scamp from leaving the flat through that outlet. (Yes, for the sake of a cat, I had to put up with an eye-sore of safety features designed by my dad). An enquiry for a piece of stationary could turn frustrating as he'd search high and low for the object in question.
No dad, I don't need it THAT desperately to cause this much trouble but noooo... you're not listening... There are times when I've definitely pushed my limits by being too demanding or unreasonable (or as the chinese would term it,
tai guo fen), and it's during moments like today (when I'm reminded abt how nice he is) that make me appreciate him so much, but also makes me feel guilty at the same time.
Of the day's events...
Do not blame students for strange behavior if you insist on yakking on and on for 1 hr 45 min straight. I blanked out after the first hour and decided to snap a picture, sans flash, of course.
Waiting for the rest at Marina Bay mrt.
Have you seen any one move THIS fast to give a hug?
XM and her production line of hotdogs on the hotplate.
Our birthday darlings upon being presented with their birthday cake.
Their.. urm.. cake.
No silly, we DID get them a proper cake...
