Because I Can
Multitasking right now. Playing MSN minesweeper with a certain driven individual and writing this entry in between turns AND listening to Candice tell crippling jokes.
What's the tallest building in the world anyway? Right. Oh, won the game. Haha. Okaaay... I now present to you... My day.
6.30am: Woke up at the 3rd snooze alarm and flipped thru the newspapers over a leisurely breakfast of
bao before packing my bag for the day ahead. Had to rush my morning shower in order to get to the bus stop in time for the Wed carpool, courtesy of Colin. Despite living so near campus, a lift still gets me to class quicker than waiting for the shuttle bus. Hrm.
8.00am: Last lecture on General Physiology - began to feel eyelids grow heavier by the minute and half-dozed through urine filtration. Had had only 4 hours of sleep the night before cos a bloody mosquito decided to feast off me. Honestly this module contributes little to Life Form & Function as a pre-req. Hrmph.
10.00am: Plonked down at a canteen table with 3 other classmates to shake off my dazedness. Had a small serving of mee soto before remembering that I'd better get the remainder of my notes printed at the CBLC before it closed for the exams. Toddled off and returned feeling very accomplished, and very tired. 4 reduced to 3. Stoned some more before they suggested it was time for lunch. Uh.. Right. Lunch... was a bowl of
ban mian and watermelon juice. I was too tired to finish either.
12 noon: Off to the library for a touch of studying. 3 reduced to 2. Accomplished this quite effectively, but after writing study notes for Salbutamol, Salmeterol, and a whole lot of other polysyllabilic drugs, got fidgety and broke my vow not to wander off to the fiction section. Was hungry for a nice novel or a textbook about animals to devour, and thought I'd pay the reference section a visit after taking a peek at the fiction shelves. Lo and behold... I found not one, but TWO Gerald Durrell books sitting there. Which fulfilled
both nice novel and animal literature cravings
very appropriately. Perked up and was much delighted.
2.00pm: 2 of us packed up and collected the notes I'd printed earlier on before heading down to that Viet cafe that reportedly sold excellent coffee. Had a weasel white with ice. The flavor is certainly there, if only it could be as thick as those coffeeshop kopis... =p Will drop the ice and just swig it down hot next time. Spent the rest of the afternoon scribbling notes and sneaking bouts of reading the books I'd borrowed. Better abstain from reading them in public for fear of scaring the more mild-mannered people around me. Yes, it is
that funny, Gerald Durrell's such a sarcastic chap with a wonderful perception of all creatures big and small, and I just burst out chortling without warning.
5.30pm: Packed up again and headed back to science for a revision lecture which ended around 7, and got a lift out of campus and walked the rest of the way home. Paid Del some attention before dinner and finishing up that Physio essay.
11.04pm: In a very haggard state right now whilst ending this entry. Why publish a post that merely drones on and on about my day? Because I can. And I'm tired. And I do stupid things when I'm tired. Whoopee-doo. And in spite of my body screaming for sleep, I still want to get back to Gerald Durrell and his hilarious encounters. Bah. G'nite all.
