Got smothered with impending deadlines yesterday. Was in a very lash-out sort of mood. This kind of thing would happen to you too if you repeatedly listened to a song you disliked in the name of academia. Phooey. Things worked out in the end and a night's worth of sleep has put me in a better and more objective frame of mind. Still questioning why I'm taking on certain commitments that bear little value (in my eyes), inclined to retreat into a hole and build a fortress around it, complete with iron spikes, but...

I want to go back to Chiang Rai. P called me from the hostel on Thurs and passed the phone to Yalu, one of the older girls in the youth group I'd led. The best test of one's grasp of a foreign language is to hold a conversation when caught off guard. I failed miserably. Mai Pen Rai. Pra Caw saap waa aray dii kwaa.
